I thought I would only have eyes for my first true love Ricordea, but alas a new love has come into my life. SO here are pics of my new lover. Is that weird? Ok lame sorry.

Seriously this stuff is beyond amazing. I HOPE AND PRAY it does well in my tank, and while its only been in there a couple days it seems to be doing well so far. Any tips or personal experience with Cespitularia would be wonderful. COUGH, Jesse, COUGH Kirsten :D Thanks to workin4frags, and enjoy the pics! Oh btw this is just my little crapy piont and shoot camera I will get better ones with a NICE camera this weekend.

I saw your frag in natural sunlight (before the meeting) and its beautiful. I can't wait to get one. Glad its getting around the valley at lower prices and for trades.
 
You should ask workin4frags. He seems to have the touch. I have had a somewhat difficult time with the Prop pieces I have. Likes to semi-crash every so often. Pfffttttttt!!

I have been able to have a piece at most Auctions. :)

WOW!!!!!! you really should stop smoking. its bad when you get winded and start coughing while typing ;)










j/k you know the peice i have like med flow and med/strong light. its doubled in size from when i got it. i love the stuff, but in my tank its green with sparkles.not much blue.

your peice look great and i wouldnt move it too much from were it is.

^ Yea I have seen it at auction, and honestly I really wasnt that interested in it but now, after seing it first hand I am smacking myself I didnt grab each and every peice you had LOL. Anyone who is even thinking about getting this coral should, bite the bullet and get some. It will be cool to see how it does in my tank, well only cool if it does good :D

LOL Jesse we must have posted at the same time. HAHA

Glad to see its doing well for you. Couple of key points
High light and easy on the current... I have been growing these for over 2 yrs. now, and I hope to make them availble locally with at least 1 or 2 every month. I am bringing about 12-20 to Reef A Palooza so if you see me there hit me up. I have the next 2 pieces already spoken for after that. Even the Calif. reefers have a hard time finding these.

By the way this is an East African Species, not the junk brought in from Indo. you can see the difference if you check out some of them in the soft coral forums.

Hey workin, I see some werid stuff.... hum lemme try to explain it. It is coming off the side, about 1/8 inch from the rock. It looks like a syphon? Humm OK you know Shrek the movie (wait for it LOL) it looks like the things on his head, like a stalk with a little bowl....is that just the way it grows? I will try to get pics of what I am talking about tonight. Does new growth start similar to other xenia? What kind of growth should I be looking for. Ive been reading as much as I can find but GOOD info is very limited. I even saw a pic of someone who called it elongata!?!?! I was like SURE I will give you $20 for THAT elongata! Was a good size too LMAO.

GAWD thats amazing! I dont know why everyone doesnt have this in their reefs. What is it that makes the glitter, I assume its in the tissue maybe the sclerites themselves but not sure. Thats one thing I cant find info on. I HOPE this frag does well but if not I am determined to get one frag after another until I find what this stuff needs.
 
I have read it is the sclerites that cause the glittering. Here is a pic of one of the Prop colonies in my tank. Taken with flash. I'm trying to coax it on a disk. It is in a lot of flow, so I need to fix that.

Hey, I would love to get some of this for my tank. I can't make it to the meeting this weekend, we are heading up to Flag area since school starts on Monday so I am not even checking the thread for anything that I want but can't have. So if any one has some of this, especially westsiders that want to sell, please let me know. Thanks!

WOO HOO, I will definitely be there in Sept!!!!!! Thanks Kirstenk I needed that info tonight!! Now I really can enjoy my weekend in the cool pines, tee hee. :p
