I'm looking for suggestions on removing vermatid snails.

As the title states I'm looking for ideas to remove vermatid snails. If there's a fish or crab that would be best. I know I could use glue, but they seem to keep coming back. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I don't think there are natural predators. I think you are SOL, LOL! Good luck in your quest, but I've gone that road, and did not find the answer ;)

when i had some in a acro i got a small screwdriver and killed it and removed as much as i could i have no ideal if any fish or chemical can get rid of it.maybe a heavy dose of interceptor but it may kill any other crustacean or shrimp u have

find something that kills them and is reef safe you will make a fortune.

read copperband and longnose butterfly, bumble bee snails eat them...they don't or didn't for me

superglue them shut works, kalkwasser slurry injected into shell kills them, manual removal

I just did a google search on this yesterday! Everyone above is telling the truth. One thing I don't see them saying is to starve the sob's. my tank has tons of these bastards. A lot of them are impossible for me to reach and a lot of them are messing with my Zoa's montis and sps. If they have no food to eat I hear they will die, but who the hell doesn't feed their fish? I've cut my feelings way down, but I haven't looked that closely in a while looking for them. Ill update later.

tried cutting back on food but no way to get rid of detritus and other particulate matter that they feed on. I put rock in a tub on the porch and spiked it with kalk to kill off any aefw or monti nudi's left behind. Some of the vermatid survived, the ones that did not were easily replaced by the ones growing in the overflows.

Have not tried an arrow crab, thinking they may be able to get the snails out if they are hungry enough, but will probably eat everything else in the tank before doing so

Corrected feelings to feedings dam autocorrect

so the vermatids are here to stay huh? im about to move my tank i was debating dipping my entire rockwork... but the deadloss from pods and whatnot will most likely cause a spike huh? should i just deal with the problem ones that bother corals or just redo all my rockwork and entire tank...?? dont really want to redo everything but these things are everywhere and my attempts seem futile!

They are not a big deal, once your coral colonies get HUGE, you will not notice them, LOL! I hardly notice them anymore :)

I disagree! They are a disgusting and highly aggressive. I have monti caps that have these snails penetrating them from underneath and poking out the tops. Not to mention the spider webs that cover anything and everything.

some corals can out grow and encrust over the sob's but the snails win. Have a frag tank set up with no fish, no food and the snails reproduce in it, forsee a problem with them in that tank in the near future. Once they get in the overflow and drain pipe, the game is on

Lol, I have a meteor shower that encrusted over a few. It's funny, there are a few polyps that made it up the tube. They look like flowers:spin1:
