After a long absence (the birth and raising my of my son who is 10 now), I'm coming back. Luckily I have most of my stuff (but no tanks or rock). After doing some research into the new stuff I have missed I think I'm going to setup a 10 nano and get back in small for now.
I feel like its cheaper now to start than is was almost 10 plus years ago?
What did I miss? equipment, chems, etc.?

Previously I ran:
72 gal drilled bow reef with custom DIY refugium and sump, skimmer, UV filter
20 gal nano reef
12 gal nano FOWLR
and a few freshies here are there.

Well...
LED lighting... Algae Turf Scrubbers, Media reactors (carbon, biopellets, GFO,etc..), chaeto reactors, carbon dosing (vodka/vinegar/nopox), dc pumps/wavemakers..

But a 10g nano is still... just water changes..

Thanks for the reading tips. LED was the first stop as I got back in, my power bill used to be an issue.

Your power bill will appreciate the LEDs. The color and dimming controls are also great. Beware that point-source LEDs aren't necessarily better for corals than the older lighting types.

Various new controllers and other automation tools are worth looking at. Some of them have built-in web sites.

There's a series of videos from Bulk Reef Supply on youtube that you may want to run through.

I've noticed availability of animals from regions like Australia, Vietnam and Africa that didn't used to be available in the US.
