Just thought I'd share that although I am now a Tunze convert, I did take my 2 crapped-out Koralia 2s and sent them back to Hydor with a nice note saying how I loved their product but I wished it was more durable ... not expecting anything because I had already sent one back and received a replacement. Heck, they sent me 2 new ones. Awful nice of them.

perhaps they will someday grow up to give tunze a run for their money. Sounds as if they are willing to stand behind their product

Yes Phil I know those pumps are awesome I was waiting for them to come out, but in the end decided to go with the tunze. But I do agree they will be awesome if the company stands behind them like tunze does.

Off subject but not - if you are like me you have about a 100 of those maxi-jets laying around. The saltwater seems to be rough on the impellers. I picked up one of those Sure Flow 1600s the other day for about $21. It is a mod kit for a maxi jet, replaces the impeller with a Tunze/Seio type propeller. As the name says, it is suppose to take the 300 g/hr maxi 1200 to a 1600 g/hr wide flow power head. This thing works amazingly well. So if you have 3-4 maxi jets putting out 900-1200 g/hr, 3-4 of these things would take you to 4800-6400 g/hr for about $21 each.

If you do not have the maxi jets, it is for sure not worth it, if you do - it is a good performance, cheap alternative.

Yeah those mods are nice. I use one on a maxijet 1200 in my sump to circulate it around and it works great. No more detritus collection on the sump bottom.
