Hey folks,

I am from Cincinnati (cincyreef) and I am here on co-op for the next couple months.

What are the best coral/reef stores in the area, I was thinking about visiting some since I am staying up here this weekend. I usually go back home to do work on my tank.

Well I just checked some older posts, seems like salties and aquatic tech. are the best in the area, although, they are nearly an hour away.

I am currently staying near chagrin falls.

Any other recommendations?

Your choices are...
Aquatic Tech, they are South and West in Columbia station
Aquarium Advenure off of 480 near the airport
of Salty Critter about 30 minutes West of the City.

Aquatic Tech & Salty Critter would be the must see stores.

Salty gets my vote as the best. AT is worth the time if you are looking to poke around. They usually have a lot in stock but are pretty pricey.

Closer to you is Two Turtles Pet Center and Aquatic Interiors Sea Cave. I have not seen Sea Cave since their move to a new building that is supposed to be larger. It's been 3 or 4 weeks so probably a good time to check it out.

If you go to Aquatic Technology, Hector's place is on the way in Brunswick, Tropical Aquarium.

Hectors place (Tropical Aquarium) is a great store, worth the trip, gets better every time I go there

i'm from solon which is right next to chagrin, you are looking at a good hour at least for a decent store. tropical aquarium is awesome, hector has helped me out a few times. same with salty critter, but they're both far.

I must be unlucky with tropical aquarium, Hes not had much of anything all the times I've been there.

I'd hit Aquatic tech and Salty critter

tropical aquarium usualy doesen't have that much stuff there, but he does special orders with no money down and has always given me great prices.

I went to Aquatic tech after the swap, and while I was impressed with their selection of livestock, the other half of the store was such a cluttered mess I couldn't stand it. And they did seem to be pretty pricey, but they've got to pay off that sun room somehow!

the sunroom has always been there, they just started keeping corals in there though.

ok def. check out aquatic tech and salty critter aquarium adventure is super pricey their corals are not taken care of very well and you'll get alot of algae with them their fish are pretty good one of the things i like about aquatic tech is the fact that their livestock tanks have halides they're not tryn' to sell u sps sittin under 110w of VHO like AA aquatic is pricey unless you search...i always spend forever in there and usually i come out of there with a good deal or nothing at all heh i have yet to make it out to salty but i have heard nothing but good...as far as tropical IMO they seem'd real empty didn't know about the special ordering so now im going to have to go figure out what i want and can't find and see if he can get it for me.
