In-Floor electrical outlet

There is an in-floor electrical outlet immediately behind where I want my tank. What if the tank floods the floor, would this be a shock hazard?

Unless it is GFCI, yes.

Yes, its its a normal outlet or a GCFI outlet like you have in the bathroom, its still a shock hazard if the water floods.

True but you could have an electrician or someone you know whose handy, use that and take it out but run an outlet to your tank!

In order to NOT get shocked when water overflows onto the floor;
The GFCI would need to either be installed in an outlet upstream from the floor plug
OR
better yet put the circut on a GFCI breaker back at the panel.

They have some very cool new floor plugs out now..
Check them out, they pop up from the floor.
