In-line add on filters

Where can I get the in-line add on carbon fliters the go after the DI part of my RO/DI system. Looking local. HD had some for 15.00.

Phil What is the objective here, What are you trying to accomplish?

Just an extra add filter at the end. I have seen other systems with them and when I bought my system (it was used) there was one in place. It is a 4 stage ro unit with a di unit. Are you thinking it is not needed?

Also not sure why you would need to run pure water through carbon, but www.bulkreefsupply.com sells the single cartridges.

Check with Salty. I think Spectrapure has a couple of different DI's, probably a gimmick but?

You are right Eddie you would put your carbon filter BEFORE your membrane to remove the chlorine. It should be Sediment, Carbon block, R/O membrane, this is the point at which you would tap off if you wanted drinking water, Then youR D/I cartridge. Spectrapure does run 2 cartridges on some of their units but a good quality mixed bed resin cartridge is all that is needed in most cases. I really do not see the need to run Carbon after the D/I stage. Some people run a inline carbon filter on the tapped line from the R/o stage for improved taste of the drinking water but that is the only reason I know of. HTH Cheers

The 2 add-ons on the end are usually some type of anion silica buster then your DI is last in line. Spectrapure makes 2 different DI resins for someone running a setup like that... or you can just run 2 DI resins and do the whole rotation system, but you need to monitor the TDS between the 2 so you know when to rotate them.

The main goal is to try and extend the life of your final DI resin.
