In need of some guidance 210gal setup

My 4yr old daughter and I currently have a BC 29 and we love it. However we can't get the fish we want in a tank this size. Well, I am a sucker for my kid ( I blame her :lol2: ) so we just purchased a used 210 oceanic tank. It comes with the tank, stand, and canopy and that's it. I know this will be an ongoing project because I cannot buy everything at once. I am looking for any used equipment if it is right for the build. I also have a few questions.
1) what size sump is ideal? I am looking at a 70 gal tank that I can customize.
2) can I setup a sump to replicate the filtration in my Biocube 29?
3) where is the best website to buy led chips for a DIY project. (I am handy and I work closely with union electricians)
4) any suggestions on heaters

Thanks for any info. We are taking a big jump from a 29 BC.

If your sump is going under the tank get the biggest you can fit under the tank. I'm not sure how the BCs are set up so I'm not sure about that.

As far as leds go there is a website that does the. Maybe rapidleds.com ? I'm not positive though.

Grats on the new tank.

Dad of the year award! First question is, is the tank drilled with an overflow? Not sure if I missed it in your post

Follow on question, what are you wanting to put in it? Fish only is cheaper and easier.

It is reef ready, two holes on the bottom of the tank on both back corners with over flows. I am not going to to do a FOWLER as we love our little reef we have in the 29 BioCube. I will probably do mostly SPS. I need a pump and a sump asap. I think I found a free 70 gal fresh water tank that I can cut glass and make a sump out of. Is that big enough?

We intend on having coral. Mainly SPS. We have had great success with the DIY led setup I made for our 29 Biocube. My mixed reef 29 loves the 5 channel led chip I bought. It's 100 w and I run it about 20%.

Thank You. Now I am inpatient. Time to break the bank. Not going to be hard to do. It seems like my wife and I are trying to deplete a bank account the fastest. At least I am trying to spend it on the tank. She is spending it foolishly on Christmas and groceries. Just kidding. There's no competition. She is clearly winning.

How do you like the ceramic marine blocks? I just ordered some.

70 gallons will be great.

I like them. I actually just ordered a couple of the new brightwell xport bricks because one is seeded with sulfur for No3 reduction, and both will fit between my baffles. Ive got a lot of LR in my sump and it's kind of a detritus trap. My plan is to get rid of 99% of it eventually and fill it with chaeto. I started running filter socks again to help reduce the amount of detritus going into the sump.

If youre getting the blocks soon and you want a place to seed them while you're building your set up you can bring them over and toss them in my sump for a while.

If the 100w multichip is working for you now, you could always just add a couple more. I ran three of them over a 6 foot 220. I agree, a 70g tank will work fin as a sump.

If you haven't picked up the 70 gallon tank yet, try to find out if the tank was ever treated with copper. Pretty sure a fairly common FW treatment, but if it was ever treated with copper, it will have left residuals in the silicone that could cause massive problems with any inverts, including corals.

I always thought this myself but I heard this was a myth.
