I have recently purchased an Octopus Recirc Needlewheel 150 and I have been toying with a few ideas. After some research I have read all kinds of horror stories about flooding basements and such. Would you think that I should still put it in the sump even though it can be plumbed externally?
The size of the footprint is quite large (For me) 7"x15" Since my sump is only 12" wide it will eat up half of my sump. If I do that would it be a bad idea to not put baffles in the tank.
If I plumb it externally what kind of risk do you think I would have with it leaking? Since I am in an apt I would hate to rain salt water on my neighbors.
