I started up my new 9005 in sump system and it is making a loud buzzing noise and not producing any bubbles. The in sump 'snorkel' is below the water but the water level is exactly on the line. Is there anything I can do to fix this. The 300 dollar skimmer is pretty worthless as it stands right now.

It is submerged too deep. If you are using the optional sump kit the water line does not apply. The top of the pipe should be above the water. The buzzing noise though would indicate that pump is jammed or has a drive unit (impeller) defect or maybe some packing material inside. I would remove the pump and open it and inspect it and then try it on its own in a sink or bucket to be sure it is working. If it works, reassemble everything and make sure the top of the pipe is above the water, if it doesn't work, let me know and we will send a new impeller.
