I am currently building a 300 in wall system that will be in my garage (converted to fish room enclosure)The tank is 96 x 30 x 24. I have a question for other people with large in-wall builds. I am wondering wether or not to have front access to this tank, and also wether I should inset the tank so that it is flush with the inside wall or leave it flush with the outside wall and case around the 4" ledge.
I really wanted to have that picture framed look to the front and so a large swinging access door would be unsightly. (Interior is just painted/textured drywall) I thought about using 4-6" trim for the display side and then hinging the top trim piece to give me a 4" or so gap to work on things. For finished look, I would like to have no access on the front; however, cleaning and placement of corals may prove to be a challenge working from the back. Maybe a large mirror or a live feed just joking..... but seriously.... maybe. What do you guys think.
