i am looking at a Inimicus filamentosus or sea goblin . it was love at first "not sight " actually. it was right in front of me and didnt even see it. but i want it! i am told that my clown , fireflys , and damsels will be history. but my rabbit fish will be safe. how aggressive are these fish and are they hearty? i want him but i am new to the sport of salt water aquariums so i dont want to kill it. any advice ?

They are not aggressive per se, just hungry :D Anything that fits in it's mouth, and it's a big mouth, will be dinner. They can be trained to eat fish and shrimp off a stick. Typically they do well and are not particularly difficult to keep. But do remember they have venomous spines ;)

you can see photos of mine here.http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-11/
its in the article on keeping scorpionfish, some husbandry ideas as well.

As bill mentions they have big mouths and if a fish or inverts fits in--consider it food
However, i find them as amazing great fish as long as you don't have any boisterous tankmates.
Lastly, remember you will have to feed it live food for a while, before weaning it over. So hopefully you have access to live ghost shrimp

Small common angler's grow into big common anglers ;) The most common angler is the Commersons, grow to the size of a football. They also can eat things slightly larger than themselves. It will have all the same feeding issues as the sea goblin, just doesn't have the venomous spines.
