Hey guys
we just bought some needles and are going to start injecting lemon juice into out aipstia... Now do you inject the needle into the aipstia OR do you put it above its mouth and let the jucie out and let it eat it?? ALso how many can you do at a time should we just inject 1 aipstia, let it sit for a couple hours then move onto the next one OR do we have ot wait days??? Becausre the lemon juice will make our alkalinity rise?

Any advice on how to kill these lil buggers!!! :)

You inject into the stem. It will not eat it. You are better using Draino .05ml (sodium hydroxide).

i inject white vinegar... right into the little guy....they will retreat into the rockwork quick...good luck

Lemon Juice and Vinegar will reduce alkalinity as they are acids. They are also organic and will add a load on the system if you have you have a large number of aiptasia to deal with. I have used hot kalk paste, it will increase calcium and alk. It also crystalizes in the anenome, which is neat looking. Boil RO/DI water and dissolve as much kalk as you can. Again, if you have a lot to do, it will increase pH. So if you have a lot of these to kill, try alternating kalk and vinegar. I have giving up on the injections and have ordered some Aiptasia eating nudibranchs...but then I am estimating over 1000 of them. No kidding. Chris.
