What do you think of nano bubbles injection to reef tank?

Salt creep = no salt creep due to the nano sized bubbles of 2 micron or less.
Bad to fish gills = myth; no ill effect to fish.

Happier corals, happier fish etc all positive.

What's your thoughts? chime in ! :dance:

I'm not necessarily seeing them in the tank... It looks as if the water level in the sump was adjusted to create this affect. No?

Bad for fish/corals/invertebrates? I don't think so... These things were designed for some wave action. (bubbles) Unless your DT looks like the chamber of a skimmer 24/7 it's no big deal IME. Does it help? I'm not really sure... FWIW though, I've never found the need for a refugium and I use tap water. Go figure...

wood block air stone near the return pump creates micro/nano bubbles
8 hours during the night for the first week then 2/3 hours per night

Makes corals slime, helping them get rid of waste, yes they will slime

Concerns
Embolism in Gills of active fish
Salt Creep

observations from people who are trying it

Positives
Sand is cleaning up
Rocks look cleaner
Skimmer is pulling more out
Corals have increased PE
fish are more active
ORP as high as using Ozone @430

Negatives
return pump has reduced flow when the air stone is on
makes a mess in my sump, lots of debris
Hydrogen Sulphide Smell for the first few days

My main concern was damage to the Gills of Active Fish, esp Tangs
I have close contact on FB with a user who has a lot of tangs, he reports no issues only increased activity

I am still sitting on the fence

My biggest concern is the co2 level in my house especially at night. I'm trying to figure out how to get fresh air in here in summer and winter.

These articles were convincing, too. We would be blowing in ambient air, not SUCKING in nitrogen rich air under pressure like a partially submerged pump intake from my understanding.

Plumb a line outside and connect it to your skimmer air line. It will bring in fresh air and stabilize ph.

That's one of the tricks I want to implement. Anything I do, I would have to access the crawl space. Herein lies the conundrum.

I would still like to supplement aeration to the cube. I have a couple powerful air pumps.

Supersaturation of oxygen can actually be lethal to the fish. Those bubbles may not be small enough to be an issue though.

In my situation, I believe I can areate a low oxygen area especially at night, just before the bubbles, if any, get to the fish.
I might go with a co2 scrubber setup on the skimmer intake or set up a scrubber chamber for an airpump.

I'm thinking about this one.

Just curious, my return pump also supplies water to GFO and carbon reactors. I don't know if I want to turn them into inadvertent skimmers.

Is there any reason that the air stones cannot be placed in the back of the tank in the upper third of the tank?
