Injured black cucumber

Hi all,

I've got a black sea cucumber that has been picked on by something, and now the area has "cloudy strings" hanging from it. It is still active, and wants to feed. I am very nervous about it, and wanted an opinion on if I should get rid of the cucumber, or put it back and let it heal on it's own. I really don't want to kill it, nor do I want it to kill my tank.

Put it in a hospital set up (even a 10G plastic container) - put in some sand from your main tank for it to feed, a heater, and change some of the water maybe once every 2 days and observe for several days. My motto is: "cukes are nukes if ya let 'em puke" take it out IMHO - but why kill it? If it is indeed ok why waste a life?

Yeah, I wouldn't risk it. One of my tigertails got caught on a powerhead and was pretty mangled. I had to put him down. Luckily, I caught it before it was too late.
