Injured fish...

I just bought a Coral Beauty and of course once he got home I noticed that he has a small injury on his belly. It has grown in the last few days. He hasn't eaten and I'm getting a little concerned. I want to medicate him. Is there a antibiotic that I can use that is reef safe? I have a number of inverts that would be sensitive to other medicines, so I want to make sure something like my Red Sea Star won't be effected by it.

I realize that I should have it in quarentine and I could medicate it there, but I don't have the means to do that. I have to treat it where it is. Is this possible?

I heard that Gel Tek Ampicillian is reef safe. Anyone use it? Is it truly reef safe?

Go buy a 10 gallon QT tank and a HOB filter and take water from your tank. Well worth it in the long run.

I agree with Steve...Quarantine tank will help you out in this case...If the condition of the fish gets worse, it could possibly wipe out the entire tank.
