Injured Spine?

I apologise if I'm posting this on the wrong thread and forum, as a goldfish is a freshwater fish, but I felt as that was irrelevant to how to deal with bent or broken fish bones.

unlike my reef tank, my small 10g freshwater tank is on the cheaper side of things, with just an internal filter and led lights. I've had what I believe to be a Comet goldfish that I won at a fair about 9 years ago. It's the longest I've ever kept a fish for and I would hate for it to pass away if it could be avoided. This afternoon I found it lodged between some wood in the corner of the tank, there's room between the wood and the glass but it managed to wedge itself in a really weird angle. The longest it could have been in that spot was 12 hours. Shes in a weird arch-like shape and can't really get out of it, it's breathing very slowly and the gills are wide open. Shes kinda just resting on her side at the bottom of the tank, though she cant really move around, there's still an occasional effort to move her tail, so I don't think it paralyzed or anything (if that can even happen to fish).

I realized this is just a fish, and was probably sold in a pack with 100 others for less then 20 dollars, and most likely even if I figured out what was wrong with her, there would be much to do about.

I'd appreciate any help or assistance that anyone could provide though.

Thanks so much for the link, I can't believe I didn't think of something as simple as nitrates, and surprised this didn't happen sooner
