I just recently purchased a 24Gal Nano-Cube. Now I am curious to find out what other people are doing to create a successful reef environment. I am personally looking to create a reef that will be compatable with the PC lighting already installed in the hood. What would be the most important modifications to make first? What type of live coral would be able to thrive with this setup? As far as water changes and mantainence goes, what does a normal care schedule look like?

I have a 12 gal. so can't help you with the mods but I can help with corals.
You can put many corals under PC's basically anything except SPS and clams, should'nt do anemones either.
You can do softies such as mushrooms, leathers, zoa's.
Most LPS but alot them get stinging sweepers at night such as bubble coral so I would'nt really advice it in that size tank. I have a bubble that got about 12 inch long sweepers in my 55.
Just be sure to give LPS enough room away from it's neighbors.
Read up on the coral you like before getting it and that should help.
As far as water changes go some do weekly some do bi weekly.

I have the 24.
First switch the stock pump for a MaxiJet 1200. The MaxiJets are much more reliable. Also if you do swap the powerheads leave the suction cup bracket on the MaxiJet when you put it in the back chamber to cut down on noise from vibration.
Also I have my chambers set up like:
Chamber 1: Chemi-Pure on the bottom with Filter Floss on top of that. Temp probe is also in here.
Chamber 2: Heater & Purigen at the moment
Chamber 3: MaxiJet 1200
Did you get the DX model or the regular?
I got the DX and have all types of LPS & Softie corals like:
Torch
Hammer
Acan Lord frag
3 types of candycane
Bullseye & Regular Mushrooms
Zoo's
Tubinaria
Blasto's
The sky is the limit with these as far as selection.
Here's a picture of my setup (You can see everything except the hammer and my Acan Lord which are higher up in the tank).

Oh yeah,
Can't forget water changes.
I was on a weekly 3 gallon change with no problems. I skipped 1, just 1 and I have the mother of all cyano outbreaks. Now I'm doing 2 waterchanges a week to get it under control. It's a pain to do water changes but a bigger pain to recover from skipping one.
