Input on Norm R tank

Looking to get feedback on Norm's tank/stand/canopy. I'm very close to pulling the trigger on getting it, but would like your thoughts to the ones that have seen it in person. I'm about 8 hrs away so I can't personally check it out. Norm know's about me asking your opinions and is even the one that suggested it to me. Feel free to post here or pm me if you feel more comfortable w/ that. Thanks for all you input

I can not speak from experience. I have never met Norm. But I can tell you that I have met about 6 people from Cora. When I mentioned Norms tank for sale. Every last one of them said it was absolutely amazing. That pictures did not do it justice.

I saw this tank only once, just after Norm annouced his sell off. I can simple say that everything is 1st class. By the looks of Norm's beautiful home and furnishings anything that he is selling can be considered top quality, and exceptionally well maintained. I would not have the slightest reservation buying anything that Norm has for sale.

BUY THIS TANK so we can all follow the build thread. :spin1:

I have seen this tank in person and WOW. No detail left undone. Norm definetly has an eye for detail and quality. I would love to own the tank myself if I could find a place to put it let alone fit it through my door. You can't go wrong with his setup.

I have spent a few hours on more than one occasion gazing into his tank. I can tell you a few things. Most importantly, Norm is a class act. He will tell you exactly what your getting. He wouldn't steer you wrong nor would he misrepresent it in any way. His descriptions give it no justice. I could not imagine how he felt when he pulled the trigger and started to take it apart. I was sick. The tank, stand and livestock, IMO is the best I have ever seen. I have spent a good bit of time measuring, reviewing house plans, beam sizes etc trying to figure out how it would fit into our home, but the fact is, it wouldn't or I would be the proud owner of the tank myself.

It is one of the nicest setups I have ever seen the only place my wife ever wanted to go back to see again. She loved that tank and she is not a fish person. I wish I had the money it would already be in my house.

I have seen Norm's tank several times. Stellar setup. I actually have one of Norm's old tanks now. I have his old 300 gallon acrylic peninsula, which he did a custom stand and canopy for. As soon as I saw how sturdy and well built the stand and canopy were, I was sold. You will not be disappointed grabbing his current setup. It is very nicely done.

Yep.

You won't find anyone that will speak ill of either Norm or his hardware. Meticulously taken care of, tank built by the pros, stand is rock solid, and it was the center piece of his living area. I wouldn't spend a single moment second guessing purchasing it from Norm.

I had the opportunity to get some frags from Norm once and got to see this tank. It was the nicest reef tank I've ever seen. Everything was top notch.

I have been to Norm's house on many occasions and I will tell you that he is a great guy! He is VERY honest and fair. His set up IMO is better then any public aquarium i have seen yet! You can not go wrong with this purchase.

Great tank. I have spent hours watching it. It is a very nice tank and very well engineered. I don't think you will get a better deal or better tank.

I'm not sure what sort of info you are looking for since a tank is a tank. The tank does exist, he's not making it up! I assume you've seen pictures and know the dimensions.

I saw the tank briefly when I bought some live rock from him. The tank is amazing. He is knowledgeable and takes good care of his equipment (how else would all that livestock have survived?). The tank is part of his house; like a piece of furniture. It's not like it has been sitting in his basement or garage.

+1 on on all the above. first and formost Norm is a h*ll of a guy. i have met him a few times and he is very upfront and honest. just a genuine nice human it is sad to see him leave the hobby, but i am sure i say this for a few of of in CORA we hope he lingers around the website.. :) anyway i have bought frags off him quite a few times as recent as this past saturday 3/13/10 and as always i love what i got from him. his tank is amazing this weekend when i was there i caught myself lingering around hoping the lights would turn on so i could catch a glimpse of it again. yes you read this right i trust the guy enough to buy frags from him in the dark!!! lol
anyway you wont be dissapointed in the setup or having the pleasure of meeting a man as Norm.
corey

Couldn't have said it better myself!

I've seen it a couple times and it is an awesome tank. Heck, even Norm's frag tank set up was nice. If you've got room for it I'd say you can't go wrong.
