Inside bin file?

Is there a way to look inside an old bin file and figure out the code for an outlet? I do not want to reload all of the outlets, but there are a couple I need the code from. I have some back up bin files could I find the code in there? Or could I send the bin file to someone and they tell me what was in the advanced programming for two of the outlets?

I don't think so, at least when I last asked Curt there was not a way to do so. What I started to do is keep a word doc with all the outlet/profile code in it just in case, along with back up bin files.

  1. Save your current config to a file.
  2. Restore the backup file containing the programming you need.
  3. Copy out what you need.
  4. Restore the backup made in Step 1.
BTW, Reeftronics' Program and Profile Lister is an easy way to get a listing of all outlet and profile programming in a consolidated format; you can save it as a text file, or copy/paste the output into a Word doc or other document. http://www.reeftronics.net, under Tools on the right sidebar.

Thanks guys. Great idea Russ. I ended up having to load the bin file to fix an issue I was having. Three outlets were all listed with the address (8_8) and half of the outlets all switched to contain the code that was originally in (8_8). I'm glad the fix was as simple as reloading the bin file which I back up on a regular basis.

Wow.. That Program Lister is very cool and helpful! I wish I would have seen this yesterday! I spent an hour copying and pasting all of my 63 outlets plus my profiles one at a time into a document so I have a text backup of my programming. What a nightmare that was!
Thanks for you hard work and willingness to share it!
