Instant Lights Hurt or Not

I tried searching about this but nothing came up, is it better for corals if your lights have a dawn dusk cycle or is it ok for the lights to just come up? I'm trying to decide weather to go with a pendant with just a MH or a fixture with MH/T5 and have the T5s come on first for an hour.

Does it really matter? I'd like to hear from people with successful tanks that have their MHs just come on instantly.

Well, I don't have MH or T5s, but I just turn my LEDs on. They're 100% from the get go because my controller is down right now, so no dimming.

So I don't think it really matters one way or another, so long as they get the light they need to survive.

No issues here, in fact, the Armor of the Gods frag I bought two weeks ago has already added three polyps.
