Thought I'd share some clownfish experiences. A few months ago I lost my male Clarki. Found it on the floor of the fish room having jumped to its death (now have screens). I posted a thread in this forum about the possibility of getting a new mate for the big female and the responses were positive. The fish I got isn't really a Clarki but very similar. More Amphiprion Sebae but not really. Anyhow, despite the differences I was told that it was still a pairable.
The make has been in QT for longer than planned due to a major makeover in the main DT. I put him in the other day and he found the female within seconds. The female checked him out, the male went into typical submissive behaviour, the female reciprocated and they were circling each other for a few minutes quivering as they do. And that was it, he was in. He now lives in the anenome with the female playing happy families.
Took maybe 10 minutes max from entering tank to entering anenome. Pretty awesome.
