Insurance on tank(s)?

My insurance will suposedly cover liability damage to the apartment I live in up to $300k in the event of flooding.

I dont know if they will say it was something I did and not actually pay out, but its a reputable company so I am hoping.

OOOH...flooding.....bad word.......the term is "water damage". Some of those insurance guys are all about the terminology.

Insurance/tanks

I have commented before on this and basically it all depends on who you are insured with and what their policy states. Each state is different but most policies with each company will be very close on coverages. This can get very long and dragged out but.........
-Every company is different, I am with Farmers, they will NOT cover anything to do with a tank....the only thing I have seen is someones plumbing blew a big leak. It was considered like any other pipe break.
-State farm, someone in our club had a tank seam blow, they covered damage to the house. No coverage on personal items. He had a lot of computer stuff damaged, no coverage.
-Live stuff should not be covered anywhere/any how

- IT DOES MATTER WHAT YOUR AGENT SAYS.......THE ADJUSTERS/COMPANY WILL DETERMINE WHAT THEY WILL/WILL NOT COVER.

Agents are not adjusters, if yours says yes it is covered. Get a signed statement with your agents boss and an Supervising adjuster to agree......don't be to pushy because they will NOT sign anything.
-Again this applies to MN, but most company policies are the same. Every state also have different rules and statues. Nothing is purposely stated to cover a aquarium, because of this EVERYTHING is left to interpretation. 99% this will not go in your favor......they are still battling over Katrina-the interpretation is being interpreted........

Also another way to look at this is, if it were your money paying for all of the bills and cover what many of you are suggesting or hoping is covered. There are too many variables, pwr outages, accidents with food, additives and hundreds of other quirking things that can and do happen to our systems. How on earth woud someone be able to crunch some numbers and come up with a "fair" amount to charge for a premium to cover all of it. No one would like the numbers-$$$. There would be so many sabotages to ones tanks....."Tank is not doing very well, lets have a claim and start over or try to get your $$$ back.
Your house/apartment insurance only covers you for 13-18 perils...Once you get past wind, hail, fire, and theft the claims are % wise very few.

Finally many of your agents have said "yes it is covered" he is full of it-meaning me......Get in in writing from higher ups and go to church more often.

well to add to the mix.....i called my insurance and added a 10K addition to my policy for my AQ setup.....he asked for photos and estimate cost. i sent him a CD with LOTS of pictures and added prices for RETAILERS....they said no problem....its on my policy now!!
Way too much invested....worth looking into.
