Interceptor and Shrimp

How likely is it that Interceptor will kill my Cleaner and Fire Shrimp if I do not remove them from the display tank while treating for red bugs? My tank is 120 gallons with a 30 gallon sump. I plan to use 1 pill to treat the whole system (about 100 gallons of water).

+1 you will loose your shrimp. You will also loose your hermit crabs, some large ones may be able to survive but you will loose the small ones. Snails will be able to make it through.

If your pill is for large dogs and you us the whole pill in 100 gallons of water I think you have a 100% chance of it killing the shrimp. If it doesn't, I doubt it will kill your red bugs!
What I mean is the pill is old and lost its potency. That's over 3 times the recommended
dosage.

50% on the loss , i have used interceptor many times and i have never lost anything but i have heard about some losses so be carefull . do you have a place to house the shrimp for the duration of the dosing ?

I have another tank I will set up for the duration of the treatment.
I made two different bottle traps, one with a 16 ounce Gatorade bottle and one with a 32 ounce Gatorade bottle. The shrimp know the food is in the bottle but don't want to venture into the bottle. Any suggestions? Should I just treat the tank with Interceptor and when the shrimp are a little out of it I can scoop them up or is this a risky option?

I think thats risky. I tried to get away w/o doing water changes after the treatment and I lost hermits. I waited a few days after the last treatment and just ran carbon and the hermits died. I noticed them looking bad and put them back in their holding tank but it was too late. I did overdose though, but think the interceptor stays in the water longer than most people think.

What are some other options for catching the shrimp? The only thing else that I can think of is to feed them and suck them up with the hose I use during water changes.

Leave the 32oz bottle with top cut off put a small piece's of live rock in it with food, when the shrimp goes in cover the opening with a net. If shrimp doesn't what to go in still try after lights out.

sreefe has a good option, and it should work . i would not try to get them "sluggish"and then scoop them out as they at that point probably have been poisened to the point of no return .i must add that i have used it a bunch of times and had no losses so i guess i have been lucky to this point .

What will the piece of live rock do? The problem I'm having is getting the shrimp to go inside the bottle, they will only feel around the opening with their antenna.

If the shrimp can feel both edges of the bottle at the same time with there antenna they might not go in, use a larger bottle. The rock seems to make them feel safer, several small pieces seems to work well. Put the food at the back of the bottle.

I would defintely say to dose it in the tank. I've done it before a few years ago and yeah, maybe I lost a shrimp or two, but, the benefits definetely outweigh having to buy a few shrimp.
