interceptor dosage to kill sps eating crabs

Hi,

I've done interceptor treatments before (twice) to treat my tank for red bugs and the only mortalities I've experienced were two acro crabs (they'd migrated to different colonies and I couldn't find them). I used the dosage in DustinDortons thread.
However currently I have a nasty sps eating crab in my tank that is decimating my sps fairly steadily. I'm not sure how many of them are in there, I've never seen them, but I have seen their moults which consist of large ugly black tipped claws and medium sized carapaces. Previous treatments with interceptor has killed the "good" acro crabs yet left the ugly hairy ones (that most likely are detrimental).

Anyways, I'm just wondering what kind of doses you guys are using and seeing any mortalities of ugly crabs. At this point I'm no longer worried about any other casualties (ie. pod population/acro crabs etc). If I can't get this crab out of here I may throw in the towel at this point.

Suggestions welcome.

Christy :)

I had a few of these crabs years ago when i started my tank with live rock. A strong pair of forceps or long tweezers will usually work in grabbing them. If they dive into their hole, squirting club soda into their hole will also get them to scurry out pretty fast, then grab them with the forceps/tweezers. With the forceps/tweezers it allows you to get into tight places. All you need to do is get close enough to touch them and pin them down. If you can't grab them, just smash em in place instead. Waiting until lights have been out for a couple hours is the best time since that's when they will usually come out and do their damage.
