Interceptor Dosing

Ok,

Got the dreaded red bugs. Gonna get some interceptor tomorrow. What is the best method for dosing the tank?

I know the shrimp might not make it, but will clams and such be ok?

Clams will be ok, shrimp and pods and such will not make it.

It all depends how much you want to dose at one time.

i add a whole pill and turn the skimmer off for a day

than i do a water change of 10%

I saw on Melev's reef or someplace that the just removed the airline so that the treatment would circulate through anywhere that had water in it.

In a couple of posts I also saw that some of the larger shrimp made it, though rare. I did however manage to find a vet that will give it to me for my tank!

No brother I did not... Had them apparently. Came from somewhere else, as I did not by acros at the swap...

I dosed two pills into my tank. Made my shrimp sick but they recovered, but they are pretty big. I pulverized them, them whisked them into liquid. I ran the skimmer but no air. Killed them all with no ill effects. Very easy. I am going to dose every 4 months or so just to be safe

Did it kill anything other than RBs?

Notice an significant increase in skimmate due to die-off of pods, etc?

Did you run carbon or do any water changes?

Couldnt even tell I dosed by the way the tank was. Very happy with it

Howard you can just leave your skimmer running and take the cup off. I put the hole pill in and i treated 2 times.

With my volume I think half a pill will be ok...

I will try it 3 times with each a week apart...
