interceptor for RedBugs

Okay so yup, not if when and I got them. I dip every piece that goes in my tank. So about 6 months ago, I picked up some interceptor so I have it on hand.

Right now they are all over my Oregon Tort and California Tort, so I am getting ready to treat and reading some posts, looks like hermits, crabs and shrimp have to come out.

How do you get them out!!!! Have 2 huge cleaner shrimp I dont want to lose and a few emeralds but no shot on getting them out. whats the easiest way for the shrimp?

So will the interceptor definitely kill the shrimp?:headwally:

I know someone that has treated his whole tank, with shrimp, crabs, etc. and the interceptor did not kill them. I'm not sure what the threshold is, but apparently they can survive more than one treatment.

more often than not it will kill all inverts though.

i used interceptor on some coral recently and had some chaeto in the same treatment bucket (was dipping it with other stuff also). I rinsed out the chaeto really well, but when i added it to my 20g QT, my two cleaner shrimp were dead within a couple hours. only one potential culprit there, and it would have only amounted to a tiny bit of interceptor that got passed through.

I am on my second treatment. So far killed a few emerald crabs. The 2 XL cleaner shrimp seam to be okay, my peppermint shrimp has been MIA but never really see him anyway so not sure if he is dead or hiding.

I've heard similar stories (referenced above) and it's shocking to me that the cleaner shrimp are surviving.
