Interceptor

not s. burbs, but wheaton animal clinic gave them to me no problem. you could try RC member pondfrog , he may have some extra...

Interceptor is a canine heartworm medication that we've found as a treatment for acropora eating Red Bugs. Problem is, it can be hard to come by unless you have a pet or a friendly veterinarian that will listen to your reasoning for it and write you a prescription.

civicss1,

If I have learned anything, it is that I would highlyrecommend a proactive approach to red bugs. Don't react once you get them because the whole tank treatment is not fun and you'll likely have lost multiple colonies by the time you figure it out.

I would get your hands on some Interceptor and dip any new frags you get for 6 hours before you put them in your tank.

I think anyone here that has gone through them will agree with me.

No, dip them in an interceptor solution.

Short answer, no.

From some of the posts in the SPS forum, it appears that the new Tropic Marin Pro coral Cure is a product that takes out both Flatworms and Red bugs in one 15 minute dip for new corals. That could be just a marketing ploy by TM, but their marketing people tend to be pretty accurate on their claims IME. I have not used it, but will be purchasing some at IMAC.

Good luck Bryan. I've heard that TMPCC is out of stock nationwide due to a shortage overseas. I've been unable to find it at a single on-line vendor. But we'll see what IMAC brings.
