Interested in getting Anemones

I have a 75 gallon tank with four T5 bulbs. It has been up and running for just about 12 months. I want to get a rock anemone and a bubble tip. Any advice on what to get? Do I dip anemone? Do I have enough light? What is best to feed them?

indiana??? go fightin irish! :)

how long has your tank been running for? a tank really should be running for at least 6 months prior to adding nems. i would start with a bta when you do get one. they are one of the easier ones, imo. i feed mine once a week very small pieces of food. if you give them food that is too big, they just spit it back out later on. i rotate between mysis and chopped krill.

as far as light, i'm not sure. maybe someone with t5 experience can chime in. i have leds on my nem tanks. i have found that my bta's color up the best in aprox 90-100 par of full spectrum led.

It has been running right around 12 months, give or take a couple weeks. Yes I am an Irish fan! I was also planning on a pair of Ocellaris Clowns, you know for the kids.

How many bulbs of t5 do you have? For a BTA I would recommend at least 4 t5 HO bulbs of the correct spectrum, with 6 being better.

forgot about the dipping question. i was always advised not to dip. nems are inverts. you are liable to kill them if you dip...

There is no reason to dip them as they will not carry any pests with them. Also it could kill them like said above. If the anemo ne comes with a piece of LR and you're too scared to put in your tank with dipping buy another anemone or gently remove it from the rock.

Perhaps I shouldn't have done it but I've dipped a BTA once in Revive. It didn't die. That said I wouldn't dip an anemone again...ever. Lol
