I have been at a few meth labs before and I can't see how anything we use in our tanks could give off that kind of a smell. As far as lighting goes you don't need light to cook meth. Lighting is use to grow marijuana not to cook meth.
This happens more often than you know. A couple in Akron used to breed and sell piranha and rented the basement area under several stores in a row when the business outgrew their living space.
The metal halide lights over their tanks was the tip used. They were raided, jailed, and their tanks, breeder fish, and fry were destroyed and left to rot.
