Moments ago I was leaning over the top of my tank feeding the fish. All of a sudden with a splash of water an unidentified object richochets off of my cheek bone, and I here a thud against the wall behind my aquarium. At first I didn't know what to think. Then I looked in my aquarium to complete a quick audit of my tangs, no, all there. I than began rearranging things behind my aqarium.
During this time frame I didn't hear any flapping or struggling. Finally after several minutes I came across a fish lying almost camoflauged with my carpet.... it was one of my bartlet anthias... I carefully scooped him up, and he/she was lifeless.. I dropped the anthia in the tank and it sank to the bottom. I thought it was hopeless, and stared at the lifeless fish as it rested upside down on its dorsal fin against the sand.
Suddenly it's gills started to move.. I waited for what seemed several minutes, but possibly 60 to 120 seconds. It's gills began to move faster and faster. Then out of no where it sprang up like a bullet, and I had to blink my eyes in dismay.
The other anthias seemed to surround him/her like where did you go?
I thought I would share a Happy Monday story on how a fish overcame its Monday self induced conflicts or maybe how the almighty care taker should be more careful on feeding the fish.. Ha.. what do you think about those metaphors.. ok.. I'm probably taking this to far... later
