OK.. so.. I picked up an Ritteri and acclimated it over a few hours to make sure it was good.
Before I did this my two tangs JUMPED ship and went into the overflow of my 180g. I was not worried about them as they were going to be safe.
I brought the Ritteri into the tank and the OC's smelled it. They started to come over from the OPPOSITE side instantly. They came to the far corner. then 1/4 then 1/2 then were all on it.
They were hosting within 10 minutes of being in the tank.
A friend was a bit peeved because his have not done anything for over 2 weeks in his tank... He has just put up pictures (OC porn) to entice them on proper behavior, I told him to get a video and play it for them... hahaha
Here is the funny part.
I forgot the Tangs were in the overflow for like 24 hrs after the ritteri was in the tank. I fished them out this afternoon and put them back in GENPOP. They normally hung out with the OC's and paled around with them.
They instantly swam over and found their old friends.
The OC's were in the anemone though. They came busting out stopping the Tangs from going in. They swam along side them and played like always. When a tang would get close they would nudge it away. They would go swim and a tang would start to follow, the oc would stop turn and swim by the tang, way before he was even close.
I had a running commentary as they were doing it.. Like:
Hi friends...
-HI
What ya doing?
-Playing
Can we play too?
-NO... STOP... we will come see you.
It looks like fun we want to play too
-If you do you will die....
hahaha.. sorry.. was in a playful mood... hahahha
They did this for about an hour till the TANGS learned to not go in.
NOW granted this is really the OC's protecting the anemone, I know that. but it was funny that the tangs wanted so much to get in and play too. Heck they always pal around and play with each other. I had to add some commentary for it as a friend and I watched them and laughed...
