Interesting skimmer option . . . .

also I know its good to get a larger skimmer than needed but could you get by with the AquaC Nano Remora Protein Skimmer if its up to 25 gallons?

Last HOB skimmer I would buy would be a remora. I don't have any experience w/ small skimmers but I don't think I've EVER heard anything good about it except it makes a nice door stop.

The bigger octopus' have a good rep as performance vs value for money. I don't know about the little one.

ask in the equipment or nano section or of RC.

Hopefully someone with better knowledge than I with the small stuff will jump in here.

buying the octopus. . . just sent my order in :)

I hope you did more research than just listening to me. I told you I didn't know wth I was talking about.

ha ya i read online reviews, sent an email to the company that was answered pretty quick i must say, and checked out the equip forum and read the octo specialty threads. i feel as if its a pretty sound investment for the size tank i have.

when you get it and before you hook it up, fill the tub with hot water to cover it, add vinegar and let it soak for at least an hour. Helps break it in quicker.

also, it's very quiet.........the seal for the collection cup came too loose, though.....but it's almost like a round rubber band, so I just stretched it around twice and now I'm good!

you can hear the pump a little with the clear panels off....but with it all together, it is silent! you have to play with the collection cup for a week or two to get it dialed in.....but mine is working great.

hmmmm.......maybe I'll dig the remora out of the garbage.....I never though to use it as a door stop!

im headed back to bluereefmarine to get the water tested again and scope out some potential mushrooms perhaps . . .

Stop adding things until you get your water parameters straightened out!

Joshalicialjt, Mr.Crab was not meaning to be mean to you, he was just attempting to convey the importance of not putting livestock in your tank until everything is just right.

Mr.Crab's post I am sure was out of love for the hobby, and looking out for the best interest of whats in your tank.

That being said, bluereef will take good care of you, before you do buy mushrooms though, I suggest you spend the money on your own set of test kits.
