Internal Overflow

Where can I find internal overflow boxes? The only site I can find (wetdryfilter.com) wants $100+ for them. That seems rediculous for a little plastic.

you can easily make your own with acrylic. Thats what I did anyway, I used acrylic stock from my college and cut it at their shop. I think it cost me like $6 in total. And nothing is easier than gluing acrylic for an overflow since it isn't really a "load bearing" seam on the tank.

are you looking for a long internal box ?? thats intended for use with standpipes ?? or is you tank drilled on bottom ?? or is it drilled on the back wall up top ?? i have a long "Cali" style overflow box sitting right here that i couldn't use . i paid 20 bucks for it , and its never seen water ...let me know what kind your looking for

My tank isn't drilled but I'm considering it. If I do, I will probably have it drilled on the back in the middle. I figure that will give me more options in the future. What are the chances that it will be in the corner of a room with a wall on its right forever?

I built a hob overflow out of Lee's Specimen Boxes. It turned out great! However, it seems that a lot of people say they'd have their tank drilled if they were gonna do it all over again. I like the black ones you see on tanks at the store. I was also thinking of disasembling my current overflow and turning the large specimen box into an internal overflow.

Where can I find acryllic? I was at Lowe's in Rocky River the other day and they only had plexiglass. It definitely cost more than I wanted to spend.

Murph,
I saw your overflow f/s thread. I don't want one that goes the length of my tank.
