Internal skimmer in full tank

Is it ok for an internal skimmer to run inside of a full tank? Can anything cause a flood?

I understand I'll need to raise the skimmer to operate at manufacturers depth

i think it wouldn't look good with skimmer blocking the view in the tank. but since it's a internal not external skimmer, you could use it in the tank.

I think as curious I would say just because you can why would you want to?
