Interval mode w/wavebox and 2 6100's

Hi,
I got the magnets too work...thanks. Now i am setting it up, and i was reading thru the post i could find on the wavebox, and u mention using interval mode, but u dont say 1 or 2 ?? and to run it for 6hour intervals.

I am running the slave cable to my 7095 controller and i changed the jumper to external. Does the min/max on the 7095 have any effect or does the wave itself still get controlled by the wavebox controller? And if the 7095 does have an effect, what level should i set the wavebox controller to? Being that i am running it to my 7095, do i still need to hook up the photo cable or does the one on my 7095 control it?

Lastly, the posts i read say to hook up the wavebox to the same side as the powerhead that is on the same side, is this correct? Is there any advantage to running the 2 powerheads on the same side of the controller and the wavebox by itself or are the results better the 1st way i described?

thank you!!

I would run the Stream with the wavebox on the same side, then run the opposing stream, pulse (min and max) will not affect the wavebox which is either off or on. You can use the Interval 1 feature to have the wavebox off portions of the day.

Ok, I just need to clarify this. On the 7095 channel 1 will be 1 6100 and 1 wavebox and channel 2 will be the other 6100, have the 7095 set to interval 1 for 6hours. Set the pulse of the 7095 to ~4sec. ?

You say the min/max has no control over the wavebox, so is the wavebox controller increasing the output or is it changing duration between pulses?

Also, do i want to run the photo sensor on both controllers or is the one on the 7095 enough?

last question, the instructions say to place unit in a corner, but i thought in another post u mention to put it near the middle of the side wall facing the length of the tank??

If the outlet of the wave pump is too close to the rocks will this cause a big loss in wave motion? At its current location(center of sidewall) i am appx 8-10" away from rocks and dont see much wave effect.
thank you for your help!!

You need to run both photo sensors if you want the wavebox off at night. The wavebox can go in a corner but with tanks over 24" wide it is better centered. The rocks won't affect the wave but it sounds like it isn't tuned, you need to tune the controller for the wavebox until you get a wave. The proper wave will crest on one end and trough on the other. The min and max and pulse will not do anything at all to the wavebox.

thanks for replying...should i tune the wave with the 6100's off then turn everything back on? So it sounds like you are saying the wavebox controller is controlling the frequency of pulses, corrrect? So, the only thing the 7095 is doing to the wavebox is turning the wavebox controller on or off, right?

MY tank is 24"(120gal) so i guess centered should be ok and the ~10" for the rocks from the wavebox is ok too!

thanks again!!!!!

i almost forgot, i noticed when i opened the wavebox contoller to change the jumper that there were wires coming in from the master and slave cables not connected to anything, is this correct?

Yes, your concept is correct, the wavebox controller runs the on and off frequency. It takes a while to tune so don't get frustrated, it generally takes 2-4 hours. Turn it very very slowly and wait and watch, as you get close a wave starts to build, within a small range it gets bigger or smaller, if you are close but no cigar you get a wave that works for a while and then diminishes and then builds again, the frequency is then very close but needs fine tuning.

ok, i know what tonights project is then...thanks for the help!

I was worried that it was cause of the box being close to my rock work was causing the lack of wave, glad to hear it is a matter of tuning.

Do you sell the mesh pump covers for the 6100 pumps? I was thinking if i run interval 1 and the pump is off for a long period that something might go inside. I switched the other 6100 to the 6200 cover and got a cover mesh for that one already, so i just need one for the 6100 if it is available.

thanks
