Well, after a long trip, I am back. I apologize for any order delays or answering delays. Things often got more hectic than I anticipated. On the brightside a lot got done toward planning our product lines and progress for 2011 and 2012.
If you haven't done so yet, you can download the Interzoo 2010 flyer here-
http://www.tunze.com/news.html?&L=1&C=US
Beyond what was covered in this flyer there are a few last minute items that didn't make it to the flyer.
Nano Stream 6015- This will be a roughly 500gph Nano Stream with a weaker magnet holder at a very economical price (approx $45)
Osmolator Face Lift- The osmolator is getting a refresh, a new more robust optic sensor and new look to the controller and a new molder magnet holder rather than the glued hodge podge of parts that is the current magnet holder.
Stream 2 Update- Besides the new silence clamp shown in the flyer the Stream 2 pumps will get a few more upgrades. Starting in August the shafts will be Titanium grade 2, replacing the current 316Ti which periodically has minor issues with corrosion at the covered surfaces as many of you have noticed (under the silicon bushings). The propellers are also blue now, the color isn't significant but the new plastic is, it is far more durable and resilient for our purposes as an aquarium propeller, the Nano Streams will also get a blue propeller late this year. Electronic pumps will soon (Fall) include a new thinner profile power supply as well which should be more durable and easier to work with.
Besides that, 2010 is the 50th anniversary of Tunze Aquarientechnik GmbH and it is the 11th year I have been involved with the company, 8 of which I have been running Tunze USA. For the future we have some exciting new products planned, I can't go into much detail at this time but we will continue to improve what we already offer and innovate some new products and improve on competing products.
I think the most important thing about Tunze and why I love the company so much is that we always work to make things better and while occasionally people feel we ignore the customers input, it is more that we can't work as fast as we would like. However, you are heard. The Stream 2's could be quieter and after a lot of prototypes and research we came up with the silence clamp. People want there Streams to oscillate and we will research it and see if we can find an affordable and reliable way to do so that won't harm the pump or cables. We do take your suggestions, you name it, if it has been posted, we have at least looked into it. If it seems like you were blown off, you may be surprised 2 or 3 years later to see it finally get done. I know a pressing issue for many is the position of the magnet holder and cup size and shape for the 9002, this is now near the top of priorities and by Interzoo 2012 we should have a new improved offering that answers your needs. There are a lot of exciting ideas in the pipeline and we owe our 50 years of success largely to our customers and while we may not always get it right on the first try we do always try. Even basic things like packaging and manuals are continually improving. Thank you!
