I just picked up my Apex last night, printed out the "Unofficial Users Guide" and Im just really anxious to start this. Not the chomping at the bit anxious, it more the tightness in the chest anxious.

Well, it won't start a nuclear war if you get something worng, so you can relax a little at least :).

It is very easy to program, just read the directions so you understand them well. That guide works very well. If you run into problems, there is always help on this forum or Curt is a quick email away at Neptune, and he is quick to respond.

Well I hit my first snag, I was on the Apex server. Clicked on the Clock config menu and it booted me off the server. Now my PC won't recognize the server again.

Im starting to get it I think. Im having a couple of mini-Aha moments and things are starting to click. I think I had myself overly amped up about it.

I'm on day 3 with mine......almost maybe kinda think I may have the lights working...next heater.....funny the email alarm was working day one now its not.I did something and can't figure it out. Breaking chops at NEPTUNE but they have been patient walking me through stuff....But I have to say its NOT intuitive. Not only have I read the manual and the RC beginners guide but I have been reaching out here. Between the different versions of software and devices being programmed everyone has different configs and some don't even look like the same language. I admit I have very limited computer skills in general but this thing is complicated where it doesn't need to be. Try to duplicate the Lunar cycle. lol...Its clearly me because everyone on here gets it right away.......................just saying

I was wrong...I don't get it. I can't even get into my servers admin page. I need the login and password that my GF insists on controlling...then she has no clue what that stuff is and has no clue how to reset it.

Haha... why does she insist on knowing the login and pass to your fish tank?

When you try to connect are you using proper IP address? You can check the current IP from the head unit. If all else fails I am willing to talk you through enough of it to get you up and running.

Wel I just received my controller yesterday and working on trying to set it up and I find myself very computer knowledgable, yet I feel like I am overwhelmed and just trying to figure out the first outlet configuration. So far no luck... wish me luck :)

Do what I've been doing.
Get a notebook and sharp pencil.
Write down what your trying to achieve, take notes and ask questions.

I'm talking about our Verizon DSL router. Im trying to get my Apex set up with a static IP address...but I can't log into our Verizon DSL because she can't remember the password. My whole reason for purchasing the controller was to be able to monitor my system remotely.

I dont think Verizon provides static IP addresses. You can use one of the dynamic DNS services to give you a constant hostname that directs to your dynamic IP.

You should be able to do a system reset on the router, therefore resetting the password to a default one as well.
