Intro and coral ID question

Hi all.

After a 10 year hiatus from reef keeping I'm back into swing! I'm an Australian living in Myanmar and there only one marine LFS in the entire country! But he is knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Also, lucky for me, reasonably inexpensive 😆.

So, I have a 600 litre tank (apologies to you backwards imperial Americans) 😅, but I'll fill you in about that soon.

My question is about this coral? BTW all corals here are either local or tank bred by my lfs...

Look forward to spending time back here! Cheers!

Fuzzy photo makes it tough.

With the white polyps it looks like a Non-photosynthetic coral. Are they soft or hard? Tough to tell exactly what with that photo but if that is the case it needs to be fed a variety of meaty foods 10-20 times a day to survive long term.

I used to keep a non-photo tank, it's a crap ton of work to maintain them.

they looks like carnation corals (dendronephthya sp) to me. most carnation corals are not easy to care for. they need to be filter fed frequently since they don't have zooxanthellae.

welcome to RC!
