Introducing Baby Bangaii Cardinal to tank with parents??

I have a pair of Bangaii Cardinals in my 75 Gallon Tank. The pair have had babys 4-5 times over the last year. I have only actually seen 2 of the babies alive. I think they are usually released from the mouth of the male at night.

I found the first baby back on October 25, 2007. It has been living in a breeder cup attached to the center brace of my tank ever since. It is now at least an inch and a half long. I would like to release him back into the main tank, but fear the other two will harm it. I have read that bangaii like to be in pairs and are agressive to other bangaii.

Anyone successfully have their baby bangaii living with the parents? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The second baby was found on May 31, 2008 and is living in my refugium. Still too small to be in the main tank in my opinion.

Thanks
Brad

It's not a good idea. I've had a group in a 120 with _lots_ of places where they could be out of view of each other and they still looked fairly stressed. Plus, they were never out and about because they all had to stay out of sight. Except when a female was ready to pass eggs. It was pretty interesting to watch the interaction then. Still, overall not very healthy for the fish. And these were all the same age.

At any rate, I'd say move this one down to the refugium and see if you can get another pair, set up a new tank, or move the fish on to a good home.

Good luck!
