My new tank inhabitant the Zebra Moray Eel. I have always wanted one of these fellas so I could not pass up the chance to pick up one.

Hey Erick, Tell Knucklehead that's not a chin rest there! How you doing man ? Long time no hear from you. Tank going good for you I hope.
Will that eat your other fish? or is he friendly as long as he is well fed. Too much like a snake to me and they move too quick to get them out if you want to.

I had one these guys for quiet some time. They are pretty peaceful and laid back. He did however manage to eat one or two of my PJ Cardinals though. I think they sit and flot too much is why he was fast enough to get them. Besides that he was great addition to the tank. Oh yeah a piece of advice if you feed him with a feeding stick (dont do it with your fingers) and he clamps down on the stick and wont let go pull him upward till his head breaks the water and he will let go.

(dont do it with your fingers)

Ya think?

Actually, I've heard they can be very tame and be fed by hand - but I'm not sure I'd actually trust one! Its like giving carrots to our horses (which are pigs) - fingers and carrots look a lot alike...

Knucklehead is beautiful. Never seen that species of moray before. How large will he get?

I had a snowflake years ago that was hand fed. it would bite my thumb all the time, but never hurt. just lift out of the water and it let go. ive seen them up to several feet or more. very docile creatures, blind as a bat and they hunt by smell.

I've never been a eel fan myself.... My partner wants a snowflake eel... I may have to give in to that one. I really don't even know what to do with it. How big does snowflake gets anyway??? Fast or slow grower? What to feed? Time to get back into setting up that awesome 29g tank that James built. I need to set it up for the eel I guess....

They are neat. Yeah Im not hand feeding one I saw the way he clamped down on that stick so no way he's getting my finger. LOL ! Mine got to be pretty big. Id say almost three foot and the size of a shovel handle or little bigger. I dont think most of them get quiet that big but I have seen one that was quiet a bit bigger.

Ok tank shots are coming but I gotta get something under control I think my alk is a little low... Gotta fix that first... The el is aprox 26+ inches long right now...
