introducing my 870gal tank (pics ahead)

Hi,
I took some pics again and ... well ...
I started this longtime-tread some years ago, so I should post at least some pics from time to time.
I changed my sump-setup last month, I bought a "Dreambox" from Royal Exclusive with 200x75x50 cm and installed it. Still the same pumps and skimmer, but a cascaded sock-filter with different mesh sizes (800/400/150 micrometer), more volume and a better defined water flow.
Still no LED lights above, still thinking.
I think I'll have to cut back some coral heavily the next weeks, the fragtanks are already set-up in the cellar, ready for Green Slimer mass production ;-).

I am a subscriber to your youtube channel and an all time fan of this tank,it is 1 of my most favorites,love the clams...it's just beautiful man :D

A perfect Tank, really amazing!
I noticed you installed the Dreambox, well Dreamtank needs a Dreambox, that's for sure:lmao:
Could you show us some pics of your new installation? Is it working good?
Greetings from Berlin
Arne

Love the Acropore setup more than words can say... Is it original 1 coral or a lot "planted" at one spot?
efendly wll go for such a large forest in my new build.

Thank you all very much.
I can see so many spots in this tank, where it is far away from being perfect,
but I am doing the best, I can. There is still a lot of potential in this tank,
hopefully I will be able to find/use it step by step.

@orangegoby,
I think it is an Plexaura flexuosa, but I am not sure about that.

@mark,
thank you, that's what I hope to achieve some day.

@redtop,
hmm, think I'll have to do a short video again, but have to clean up my hard disk first, 5min video takes me (being a bad cameraman) about 45 min material.
thats gigabytes and gigabytes of hd material, before it is cut. :-)

@Stockholm,
thank you very much, the green-slimer type of branched Acropora were originally two slightly larger frags. All other Acropora (including the light-pink large flat one) started as one larger frag. It's the 4th time in 6 years, that Green Slimer got that size, being reduced to 30x20cm after that.
"Slimer" is the fastest growing Acropora, I've ever seen. Good choice for a forest ;-).

@Arne,
Danke!
The dreambox is a piece of very good craftsmen work, like most of the Royal Exclusive stuff.
The filtersocks are a little too fine for my taste, 150 micrometer gets stuck after about 5 days. Cleaning in a washing machine is no problem.
There are others available, but I'll stick to these, because of the "airlike" clean water, they produce. 150 micrometer of this type, cleans the water better, than the 150 micrometer fleece filterbags, I've had before.
Here are some preinstallation pictures: http://hanseriff.de/?page_id=99&g2_itemId=5250
An here is a pic, of the interim installation, that is currently running.

Thanks Ralph, it seams I have alreaddy 5 different "slime" (Bali, yongei and a green I can't identify) frags a larger (20*20*20cm) blue and a larger green/yellow.

questions;
1) my yellow/green don't seems to like to stand direcktly under my LED lightning, it have lost a lot of coulor where the lightintensity have been strongest but stll grows a lot. Is it normal for this acro not to be to crazy about strong light?
2) If I mix the slime-Acros in a forrest will they be "friends" or.....

My next build starts within a month :-) so thanks for the inspiration.

@Stockholm,

this is also not the "Green" slimer, I've had the darker green one together with this more yellow one in the past. They grew into each other, touching tissue without problems.
The middle part of it sits directly 30cm under 400 Watts MH, the right and left part 20cm under heavy T5, reflector touching next reflector, half white/half blue. But as you can see from the pics, it is also growing down into "the dark", so I guess it can handle strong light, but does not need it that extreme.

Do you have enough water movement together with the strong lighting?
more light -> more water movement.
Here are several powerful pumps directed at it from different directions.

Good luck with your project!
Ralf

Nja, water moovement is defently not the problem. I have mooved it deeper and will turn of my Blackight LED's during the day and see how it goes.

I have moved another Green to my blue, and not just to hope :-)

;-) love that blue/green combination.
Again one of these "all tanks are different" things, maybe.
Maybe it reacts different on LED-wavelengths, I have no experience with them.
Only some lowlight LED things above my LPS-fragtanks for now.
Maybe I should do some LED experiments with Slimer, before I swith some of my T5 to LED, as already planned. hmmmm.
Thanks for bringing this up,
Ralf
