Hello folks,
I've recently moved to SF to take a job as an aquatic biologist at the Steinhart Aquarium. Dave Chan says hello! Anyhow, I'm a former member of MARS and am looking forward to hopefully meeting some of you in person at a meeting or frag swap soon. Even though we're building a 200,000 gallon tank at Golden Gate Park, I still have a personal tank at home!

I have a sort of odd question. What LFS is good for purchasing cheap freshwater fish? I need fancy fantail goldfish in bulk. Like, 30 of them, once a month or so. Also, what LFSs are your favorites in town? I have been to some of the East Bay places like Aquarium Concepts, Aquascene, and Atlantis, but not much in the city. I've been to 6th Ave. and not been terribly impressed.

Welcome!

Hmm what are you feedinf fancy gold fish to?

I dont know much about the sf lfs so someone else will have to chime in.

Don't forget to check out the BAR forum on our website.

Goldfish huh? not sure...try the place in Chinatown on Broadway, otherwise you may want to ask a store to maybe make you a deal? Steve at Lucky Ocean or Ocean Treasures maybe able to help, but I don't know much about the goldfish prices. Good luck.

Talk to Roger at Hung Ming on Mission he has quite a few fancy goldfish.. Try out aquatic central on ocean avenue as well if Chris doesn't have them he can get you whatever you need... As mentioned before Steve at Lucky Ocean is also a good bet..
