invert rearing tank

So I was wondering if anybody had or has seen any ideas on an invert rearing tank. I need to set something up and am not really sure what I need. I have a mated pair of coral banded shrimp and a pair of emerald crabs that mate and release babies about every three weeks. I have caught and keep some of the last batch of each. I have managed to keep the emerald larvae alive for a week so far and some of the shrimp alive going on 5 days. I know they need to be moved to a rearing tank for the to settle. Apparently from what I can find they will settle based on the cues within the environment. Some of them being visual. Like sand or rock. My thought is a small aquarium with under gravel filter and heater. Live sand base with some small rock structures. Standard fluorescent or led lighting should be fine. Finally a heater. Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.

I thought about the sponge filter idea. I have never used one and I did not know if the maintenance would be a pain.

I could print some but where is the challenge in that?

That is so cool that your banded shrimp are still going......I hope you have success with this......I'm liking the under gravel filter idea.....but I would do a fairly shallow bed of crushed coral over sand.....get some pods going in there and it should be pretty self sustaining.

They are actually pretty cool to see. They are transparent so you can tell they are eating. I am keeping them in a fish bowl converted into a poor mans kressil. I am using phytoplankton and rotifers to keep them feed. I will move them up to brine shrimp as they get bigger. (If they stay alive) Some of them seem to be settling already so probably need to get something up and going.
