IO mixed up cloudy

Last weekend I mixed up some Instant Ocean from a bucket that has been open for several months. The salt was crunchy, not it's normal state. After mixing it up and adjusting the water to 1.024 I noticed that it seemed to be cloudy. I mix it with a Mag5 pump.
Then I added an airstone to the bucket and let it mix/aireate for another 24 hours. The water was still cloudy.
Since it was cloudy I decided not to change out the water.
This same bucket of salt has never mixed up cloudy before. There is about a fourth of a bucket left.
Have any of you experienced this before?

not sure maybe it has something to do with it being a old salt..got me ??

I know Matt had a problem with a batch of IO mixing up cloudy... He dumped it as well... Or course he uses many thousands of gallons more than we do...

If it is "crunchy" it has absorbed moisture. This will cause some things to precipitate out; just can't remember what off hand.

I suspect that it is time to buy some fresh salt...
