Iodine Question

I see a lot of soft corals advertised as needing additional Iodine supplement for good health and coloration, but I can only ever find IODIDE at the LFS, etc.

Is this the same thing? If not, are they talking about regular ol' Iodine from the pharmacy?

iodide is only the ionic form of iodine such as potassium iodide, for all intent and purposes, would mean the same thing.

I have a Salifert Iodine/Iodide test kit and never get a high reading so I dose ESV Potassium Iodide once a week.

I know some people bash Brightwell products, but iodine is iodine in my book regardless of manufacturer.
