iodine?

can i ues any old iodine for my tank? and do i really need to?

I would use one meant for aquarium use...not the kind you can buy for cuts and scrapes at least........I use a drop or so a week of lugols for my softie tank, my Xenia seems especially appreciative.....but if you have a mixed reef, or no softies, the amount that is already in salt will probably suffice.......the less you add to your tank...the better in my opinion

Also test for anything you dose. You can get an iodine test kit. That way you don't over do it and mess something else up.
