iPhone / iPad / Android Reef Apps

iPhone App

aquaPlanner - 4/5 stars | I was given this app to test, and I really like it's concept. It's simple. Set the desired intervals for various aquarium maintenance chores, and the phone sends you reminders to actually do them. When you complete a particular task (e.g. change the activated carbon), you click the respective reset button, and the clock starts ticking again. The app works well, and is a good reminder tool for the novice / intermediate hobbyist.

For advanced aquarists, I would like to see some user-editable content in the app. For example, one could maybe change "Chemi-Pure" to "Biopellets" and be able to numerically assign the time intervals, instead of using sliders. Also, adding and removing reminders to suit one's individual tank would be the key, like adding a "clean the sump" reminder.

My aquarium logger for droid. One of our locals loved it. I have yet to try it. 2.99 though, but that's not much compared to what I regularly spend on my tank.

I wish the aquastix had graphs like aqua notes to show increases and decreases during day, week, month, etc....

Definitely lacking and I wish the marine section on what we test for was more refined, there are things that we don't test for and or are not necessary and we should be able to hold it down and move it or trash it.

Has anyone heard of reefmaster pro for iphone/pod
Has info on many fish.
Also water test inputs with graphs for all main water testing elements.
Havent downloaded yet but will review when I do.

ok downloaded it and here is my review.
It doesnt work.
I am using the latest ipod touch so am dissapointed but it crashes on start up.
Refund required so steer clear.

I downloaded Aqua Tracker (iPad) a few days ago. Works good, I wish you could add notes, like what you dosed the day you tested. If you could set up reminders/notifications for maintenance it would be nice too. Otherwise, its good.

^^^ this ^^^

I downloaded it, and while it's good for what it does... it's so rudimentary that I was naming improvements right off the bat. No notes area, I really can't tell developers how crucial this is for us scientific types.

I finally broke down and made my own spreadsheet on Apple Numbers for iPad. It's now my "reef log" and it works so much better than any of the apps out there, for my purposes.

Anyone interested in a copy?

Hey all, I have a few PM requests for my iPad reef spreadsheet. I've been busy with a trip, and Valentine's day stuff, but I will try to get those out to you guys soon!
