Iridescent Coelothrix irregularis

Bongo Shrimp

P. ceratophthalma
Been growing this slow growing macro for about year now since finding a tiny strand on a new piece of LR. I thought it was tine to take a new pic of it. It is very picky as well and sometimes just does off for no reason. Luckily I keep multiple redundancies in my other tanks. So far this piece has been growing well. I tried to take a macro shot of it as I have done before but it is very hard to get a perfectly focused shot with the iridescence. Tried to take the pic near where I took the old ones to show the growth but it's hard to tell since it grows so slow. Maybe just more color than anything else.

And heres a pic of what I believe is the same species I found while exploring some tide pools on vacation. It definitely looks more blue in the intense sunlight and from far away. Also has slightly thicker branches, probably from the surges of water in the tide pools. The green parts are dead or dying. I know from experience ;).

Looks pretty good to me. Seems like it is growing good for you. The piece you gave me isn't growing very fast at all but still alive and growing a little. Time for an update to your whole tank!!! I want to see how all those other ones you have that I can't find anywhere else are doing.

Haha next time I catch a break I'll photograph the whole tank in detail. Just getting a good shot of this macro took a while. Next time you're around lmk and you can check everything out. I have a new seagrass I think you'll like called Halophila stipulacea. Never seen it in the hobby before. Got some SPS backup frags for you too.

Thank you for the interest however it is not for sale. I do not currently have enough available for distribution.

Very true :) Though I do have a few very nice ones that are not too hard...Sudden dieback for no real reason is highly annoying but part of macro tanks.

Awesome! I think I see small strands of something that looks like that when I go diving. Maybe I'll try collecting some next time. What kind of lighting are you growing it under?
