Is a Calcium Reactor enough?

I am 6if having a Calcium Reactor is enough for my tank. What is your opinion for dosing with additives in addition to the reactor? I seem to have a very high 430 CA but the DkH is hard to maintain and what about other little chemicals?

180 GA
3/250 14K
Skimmer
Phosban
CA 430
DKh 5.6 I know, get it up
No Phosphates
No Nitrates

Some people with reactors also drip Kalk to help with ALK/PH. You can also dose an ALK supplement or Baking Soda. Trace elements should be OK with water changes. HTH

Once you balance your alk the reactor will help maintain that balance (typically). when you say "additivies" that is a really broad term, you could get people started on zeovit, probidio (sp?), Polyp Labs (again with the sp?), and a few others. As for things like mag, iron, etc.. yea, for most people a good WC schedule and a reactor are all they need :)

I am not sure what is wrong with my reactor. It seems to not be working a well as it could. Hmmm. Looks fine but perhaps I just need to increase the drip rate.

Be more specific and you may get better responses, but.....

What is the effluent pH?
What are the effluent calcium and Alk levels?

Your reactor is not dialed in correctly. You should not have to add anything to maintain a balance between Ca and Alk.

What kind of reactor do you have?
